Q. What is Tesloop?

A. Tesloop is the first Tesla-based mobility service for consumers. Tesloop has been offering city-to-city shared-car transportation and rentals in Teslas, and has received the highest consumer ratings of any transportation system. Tesloop currently manages an expanding fleet of Model X, Model S, and Model 3 vehicles in Southern California which are connected to Tesloop’s data management system. Tesloop leverages the low cost of electric vehicles along with the optimizations enabled by continuous vehicle data feeds. Tesloop focuses on an amazing travel experience, whether you are being driven or driving yourself. We believe traveling in a safe, productive, and sustainable way should be an experience that’s truly inspiring from booking to driving.

Q. Is the Carmiq platform running already?

A. Carmiq is currently running in an early beta mode, with an initial target of select geographies in California. However, any Tesla owner in the world can enlist their vehicle in the program. Certain services will be regional and others will be global.

Q. How old do I have to be to join Carmiq or gain access to your fleet?

A. You have to be at least 18 years old and must have a valid driver's license to join Carmiq.

Q. Is Carmiq only for Tesla owners?

A. The initial release of Carmiq is designed to create a better Tesla ownership experience. However, Carmiq will soon extend to other electric vehicle brands, and will also enable those looking to use electric cars without owning them.

Q. Do I get anything for signing up early?

A. Yes. Enlisting your vehicle earlier will enable higher benefits in the future, as your vehicle will have the benefits of economic seniority.  By connecting your vehicle before Oct 31, 2018, you will get the service and economic benefits of our Elite status membership for 2 years, as well as a signup bonus.

Q. What if I don’t want to enlist my vehicle for Fleetshare Rental use, but still want access to other connected car services?

A. Carmiq Connection creates no obligations of any type towards its users. You are welcome to use only the components of the program that match your needs.

Q. What about my Privacy?

Your privacy is our utmost priority. Please refer to our privacy policy and if you have any questions, feel free contact us at carmiqhelp@tesloop.com and we’ll answer all your concerns.

Q. Will you sell my data?

Carmiq will never sell your data unless you have specifically and explicitly opted into a program that offers you benefits for doing so.  Carmiq will not share your personal data until you specifically authorize it, and will only share non-personal info in an effort to serve the interests you have specified.  You own your data. You control your privacy. Carmiq acts on your behalf according to your authorizations.

Q: What Free Services do I get?

We provide you with Safety alerts (such as Speeding Alerts), Vehicle History Recording (soon to be moved onto the blockchain for immutability), registration and Tax Reports.

Q: How much work is it to participate in Fleetshare rental program? Is it as much work as Turo?

A. The Fleetshare program allows you to rent your vehicle to others in the network. In certain geographies, concierge service is available, which provides a hands-off experience for the roles of vehicle inspection, cleaning, and management. In California, Tesloop is providing concierge services. In other geographies, owners must take on the management of these tasks.

Q: Can I enlist my vehicle for limited days instead of full time?

A. Yes, you can.  You will receive listing bonuses for each day listed, and rental compensation for days your car is rented out.  Monthly compensation estimates will soon be available for various geographies.

Q: What about Liability and Insurance? What if my vehicle is damaged when I rent through Carmiq?

A. When your vehicle is being actively rented on the Carmiq Fleetshare program it will be insured through our insurance partner Farmers insurance.

If your vehicle is involved in a collision and has been severely damaged, we will try to find you a replacement vehicle similar to your vehicle model and year. If the damage is cosmetic and its still safe to drive your vehicle, you may file for a reimbursement for the repair cost.

Q: If I am buying a Tesla, do you have a financer?

A. Our financing partner for Carmiq is Sutton Leasing. The amount due at signing and downpayment to be disclosed when Sutton or your financier runs your credit. At the end of your lease, you will be able to take ownership of your Tesla. If you don’t want it at that time, Tesloop may purchase it from Sutton or your financier.

Note: This combines the benefits of a lease and ownership (no upfront tax).

Q: What are the Tax Implications of Commercial Use?

For Owner’s in the United States only:

For vehicle miles accrued during a Carmiq rental, the vehicle owner may deduct 54.5 cents per mile from owner’s taxable income

NOTE: You should only submit miles which were driven under Carmiq’s use and exclude the miles from your personal use
